1. Top Dressing One of the best uses for your compost is as a top dressing for your lawn. In order to do this, sprinkle 1-3 inches of compost on top of your grass, then rake it and water it in. Eventually the compost will settle into the soil and disappear leaving you with healthier, more fertile soil.

2. Mulch If you are using your compost as mulch, spread it around trees, shrubs and other plants. Make sure to pile up a good 2-3 inches so that it can hold moisture. Do this 1-2 times a year and you will have the healthiest plants on the block!

3. Make Compost Tea Compost tea takes composting to the next level. The only thing better than using compost in your garden, is using compost tea. As its name implies, compost tea is made by steeping compost in water. Compost tea makes the benefits of compost go farther and increases the amount of nutrients available to the plant! “Brew” your own batch to use in your lawn and garden!
